Brake pads and discs
Brakes are not the place to cut corners, and they're also the part that causes the most confusion. One model often has three or four different brake systems depending on engine power and trim. That's why we ask for your licence plate: it tells us the exact disc diameter and pad type your car needs.
When do brake pads need replacing?
A squealing or whistling sound under light braking is usually the wear indicator: a metal tab that scrapes the disc once the pad is nearly worn. A dull metal-on-metal scraping means the pad is gone and the disc is probably damaged too. Vibration through the steering wheel or pedal while braking usually points to warped discs. Pads typically last 30,000 to 60,000 km, but city driving and towing put you at the lower end.
Replacing pads and discs together
New pads on worn discs brake worse and wear faster, because the contact surface no longer matches. If your discs are below minimum thickness or have a lip on the outer edge, replace them together with the pads. We supply them as a set so you know it fits.
Front, rear, and which brand
Front brakes do around seventy percent of the work and wear faster. We stock Brembo, ATE, Ferodo, Textar and TRW — brands manufacturers use themselves — alongside more affordable alternatives that meet European approval standards. At the counter we explain the difference honestly instead of defaulting to the most expensive option.
Brake fluid
Brake fluid absorbs moisture and loses its boiling point over time. With a lower boiling point the fluid can boil under sustained braking, and the pedal drops. Almost every manufacturer recommends replacing it every two years. We stock DOT 4 and DOT 5.1.

- How do I know which brake pads fit my car?
- Send us your licence plate on WhatsApp. It tells us the trim, model year and engine code, and therefore the brake system. You don't have to work anything out yourself.
- Do you fit the brakes as well?
- No, we sell parts and are not a garage. We do help you get exactly the right part, and we'll say honestly when something is better left to a mechanic.
- Do you have brake pads in stock?
- For common models, pads and discs are usually in the warehouse. Send your plate and we'll confirm it for your car.
